Dear Kyle,
Happy Anniversary baby! I don’t know about you but it feels weird to say that we’ve been married for a year. It feels like just yesterday we were in the oceans of Hawaii where I made you reenact the notebook scene with me. Not only does Hawaii seem like yesterday but it also seems like just yesterday that we were sitting at camp. My head on your lap and a blanket over your legs (you know I hate feet). We spent our nights by the light of the tv glow watching Ghost Adventures. Just sitting here is like going through a time machine, thinking about all of the things we did together, how much we’ve done for each other, how much you’ve done for me. I know you always shush me when I say this but if I didn’t have you, I still don’t think I’d be alive to this day.
I’ll still never know what you saw in me but, I do know you’re the only one who could see through me though. No one had a clue about Alex but yet…you knew. Opening up to people was never something I did well but I was surprised how it came so naturally with you. I wanted to give you my everything since day one. Just seeing how much of a selfless person you were, how much you cared about me. It made me want to be a better person and with you I am that better person I’ve always wanted to be. It took me a while to get here though. Through all my problems, and Lord knows I have them, you stuck by me. You took the term ‘I’d take a bullet for you’ a little too literally and sometimes I think you’re my human guardian angel. I just… I know I’m good for something… I haven’t found it yet, although I’m well on my way just being your wife.
You know, sometimes we’re so busy that I actually have to take a moment out of the day to just sit down, lean back and think about how far we’ve made it. To be completely honest, the first time you asked me out in that costume closet, I thought it’d be a mess. I thought it’d never last but look at where we are now. Two years of dating, a year of us being married and one beautiful daughter later, I have it all. Some say I’m just in it for the fame, the money, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth and I think everyone who knows us feels the same way. I love every single part of you Kyle Mason Rule— from your crazy daddy dragon morning breath to even your feet that can’t dance to save their lives.
You’ve given me the best three years of my life and I know we’ll many more to come. Watching Kally grow up, head off to kindergarden, hey, who knows? Maybe she’ll find someone who loves her just as much you love me. That’s all I can hope for her. I want her to find someone exactly like her daddy. Someone who’s gonna show her what love truly is. Although, I hope she has an easier time finding it than I did. I’d go through the pain a million more times if it meant getting to you though. With you I feel safe and I’ve never felt that way before you came along.
I want so badly to get a little house in England, right around where you grew up, I want to take Kally to the coffee house where you proposed to me, I want her to have your cute little accent and most of all, I want to see her bring home that boy who’s exactly like you. I want her to beg us to have him sleepover. We’ll say yes, much to your dismay, and we’ll put him in the spare bedroom. Although, in the morning we’ll here the light footsteps down the hallway and the faint sounds of them laughing and singing “I’m A Believer”. I guess what I’m trying to say here is that I can’t wait to live the rest of my life with you, give our daughter the perfect life and let her live out her dream just as you and I did. So once again, Happy Anniversary Ky baby, you’ll never know how proud I am to be a Rule.
